Benefits of Attending
THE MANITOBA shoWCASE
& Conference
We support, educate, and help aspiring, emerging, and accomplished Canadian artists from diverse backgrounds.
Get peer-to-peer and one-to-one career advice and information from Manitoba Arts Network staff, specialist advisors, and other showcase artists.
The showcase engages over 150 artists, presenters, agents, managers, and industry stakeholders. MAN concludes Manitoba Showcase with a block booking meeting collecting the interest from presenters for the performances they saw and want to bring to their communities.
MAN liaises between presenters and artists/agents over the next five months to collect bids from presenters and submit tour offers to the showcasing artists/agents. For theatre and dance groups for whom showcasing is financially prohibitive, digital showcasing will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Besides being an opportunity to showcase, the conference also features seminars, workshops, visual art exhibitions, one-on-one meetings, an artist trade-show exhibit room, and networking events; all focused on connecting artists, agents, industry professionals, and arts presenters. It’s a weekend of entertainment, inspiration, and the ultimate place to connect with artists, presenters, industry professionals, colleagues, and friends.
It’s an excellent opportunity to learn from the best in the industry and get exposed to the latest techniques, and digital trends that will help you stand out from your competitors.

Connecting artists with opportunities in rural Manitoba
Meet the Showcase & Pitch Artists
Showcasing artists receive bookings from our members based on interest gathered from Showcase. Showcasing performing artists can also receive future bookings beyond the next touring season. The rural Manitoba touring market is valued at an estimated $300,000 per year.
A presenter attends the conference to gain access to artists in various disciplines to fit their programming needs and budget — and to begin booking their upcoming season. Artists will be announced in August 2023.

How many artists will be showcased?
We have the answers!
What Our Showcase Artists Are Saying!
I am grateful to have had the opportunity to participate in Manitoba Showcase as a Showcasing artist. The opportunity to showcase has given me access to a network of presenters across Manitoba and led to our upcoming tour in 2023!
The opportunity to network and present my music to Manitoba arts organizations was invaluable and I would recommend showcasing to other artists who would like to bring their shows to Manitoba in the future. Now, more than ever, us artists need these essential opportunities to build up our networks, and rebuild our national tours to be able to grow our business.

What Arts Organization Delegates Are Saying!
I urge you to attend if at all possible. I have learned so much from Showcase over the years and it is a great way to connect with funders!

As always, Manitoba Showcase was vital to our programming year. The scope of the offerings, from performing arts to visual arts to professional development, was amazing considering how we managed to pack it all into one weekend.
We were particularly pleased with the focus on Indigenous arts, culture, and practices at this year’s Showcase event. We came away with reams of new ideas and advice on how to carry on and move forward as an arts centre in rural Manitoba. Lots to work on in the coming year!

As Presenters, Manitoba Showcase is the most important event for us each year. We use the Manitoba Arts Network to select several of the shows we present in our season, they help us afford better acts to attract bigger audiences, and they teach us new event management skills through Workshops.
